Egyptisch faience amulet van Isis met Horus op schoot.



The story of Isis goes as follows: Isis was married tot Osiris but Osiris got murdered and cut in pieces by his brother Seth. Seth spread the pieces of Osiris all over Egypt. Isis was able to reassemble Osiris and got inpregnated by him. Horus was born out of this but Isis was afraid that Seth would kill Horus, so she send Horus adrift on the Nile river in the hope he would be found and raised. This happened and later Horus revenged his fathers\' death by killing Seth.
